Who is behind Yak Thai?

Yak Thai, that's me, Chonticha, a Thai woman who has lived in Germany for seven years. I'm supported by my husband and our son.

How long has Yak Thai been around?

Yak Thai has been part of the Thai community since 2021. We are an integral part of the community and are known for our authentic Thai taste and quality.

What does Yak Thai stand for

Yak Thai stands for 100% authentic Thai flavor. We produce fresh and use everything that's also used in Thailand.

Our products aren't artificial, vegan, or mass-marketed. With us, you get authentic Thai flavor.

Where does Yak Thai manufacture

We manufacture our products in a former butcher's shop here in the countryside. You can find the address on our website. Everything is handmade, completely free of industrial processes.

What is real Thai?

Do your products contain additives?

No. We don't use any additives in our curry pastes, chili pastes, or sauces. Unfortunately, we cannot do without them in our Moo Yor and Gun Giang sausages.

Where do your ingredients come from

We import our dried chilies directly from Thailand. All other ingredients are sourced locally (e.g., onions) or from retailers.

Do your products really taste like they do in Thailand?

We produce 100% Thai-style. With fish sauce, shrimp paste, and Thai chilies. We don't conform to the masses to have something for everyone. We are truly Thai.

What does fresh produce mean

Our products don't have to endure weeks of sea travel because we manufacture them here in Germany. This allows us to process them more gently and avoid typical processing steps like ultra-high temperature (canning) or the addition of preservatives.

How sustainable is Yak Thai?

What does sustainable mean at Yak Thai?

We only produce in small batches, exactly as much as we can store. If a product is out of stock, we produce fresh again. Our products aren't made for supermarket shelves, but for you.

Regional and environmentally friendly

Because our products are manufactured here in Germany, they are more environmentally friendly, as long transport routes are eliminated. We believe that food should be produced as close to the consumer as possible. For the sake of the environment.

Where can you buy your products?

You can also occasionally find us in select stores, in limited quantities. We try to avoid wasting food or throwing away unsold stock.

How long do your products last?

Our products generally have a shelf life of a few months after delivery. Once opened, simply refrigerate the product to extend its shelf life for another few weeks.

What certifications does Yak Thai have?

Yak Thai doesn't have any certifications! We believe that quality doesn't require a certificate, but rather real people who stand behind the product. The costs of obtaining and maintaining a certificate would have to be added to the product price in the form of a surcharge.
